About the story:

A father is tormented by his divorce, economic challenges, raising a son on his own and the need to move on with his life. Jacob, Mickey’s father, a construction worker, meets Shernice a woman working in a coffee shop who happens to live in the same building apartment as he does. He falls in love with her. His son Mickey on the other hand feels rejection by his father and though he cannot stand J.T. at least has him around all the time.
